Thursday July 14, 2011 I was invited to the premiere of ‘Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest’. This was a Documentary about A Tribe Called Quest – featuring Q-Tip (Kameel Ibn John Fareed), Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White. This movie was directed by Michael Rapaport exploring a journey through one of the best times in Hip Hop with one of the best groups in Hip Hop over the past 13 years. The documentary tells their story from the beginning, through the difficult years, the break up and culminates in their recent comeback tour. This was a great way to see the great minds behind even greater music that impacted a generation.

Wed July 20th I was invited to the premiere of New Movie Captain America. Captain America was set during World War II about a wanna-be hero who didnt initially cut it fit wise to be apart of the US army but thanks to some government-administered serum he is just blessed with strength and speed. Chis Evans plays Captain america starting out as just Skinny Steve then after his transformation he perfectly embodies a full-of-heart Captain America with no special powers other than a shield & extra human strength to fight off the bad men who are trying to ruin the world.

Tuesday, July 26 I was invited to the premiere of New Movie Cowboys & Aliens. The movie takes place in the late 1800s in on an New Mexico Territory. Daniel Craig plays a lost cowboy with no memory of his past who stumbles into a desert town with an unknown piece of metal on his arm. Colonel Dolarhyde who is played by Harrison Ford is king in this town and everything goes through him. But when the town is attack by a new breed a of alien, the lost cowboy becomes the towns only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force and that’s where the fun begins. This movie had a great storyline, tons of action & bits of romance.

Thursday July 28th I was invited to the premiere of New Movie Warrior. I wasnt really sure of what this movie was a about other than MMA fighting but I was pleasantly surprise. This movie was about an ex-Marine named Tommy haunted by a tragic past, that returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for a mixed martial arts tournament awarding the biggest cash award in the history of the sport. He also has a brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family. The two brothers have been estranged for years and still have many unresolved family issue but are forced to finally face each other in the ring winner-takes-all battle of their lives and ohhhhh boy is it a great match up. This movie gave lots of drama, action and a great ending to something which started off rocky.
